Mihi

Deep peace, pure white of the moon to you

Deep peace, pure green of the grass to you

Deep peace, pure brown of the earth to you

Deep peace, pure blue of the sky to you

You have come from far away

Over land and sea from antipode isles

To remind us of the ancestry of mankind

   that we all share

And to remind us of the circle of life that unites

the living and those we fondly remember

Hamburg warmly welcomes the Maori People of

   New Zealand

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
